The Medical FabLab project can be defined as a “mobile technology lab”, that is a small equipped digital laboratory on wheels. Medical FabLab could be a tool at the service of Doctors and Orthopedists in the first “prosthetic phase”, when an adequate temporary prosthesis is needed as quickly as possible. It is also easily adaptable to accompany the patient in the rehabilitation phase, as well as in periodic checks at 1, 2, 3 and 6 months.

Millions of innocent people live in war territories and several thousand are mutilated and disfigured because of mines, explosions and other unspeakable kind of violence. So a mobile laboratory set up in this way could be a valuable tool for doctors in difficult situations.
